MkII resistor question Hello! I'm new to this board. I have a tecnical question about the mkII circuit and this seems to be the right place to address it...I have seen several schematics on the internet giving the resistor from base of Q1 to ground as 100k. Is this right or should it be (as some say) 10k?

the Mk2 schematics I've seen say 100K and the SupaFuzz schematics I've seen say 10K. I would love to get the captains opinion on this one.

Me too! As some say the 100k value is a typo from way back...

Hey Kennsol,
On vintage units you find 10K with the OC75's and 100K with the OC81D's.
Also the bias resistor on Q2 differs according to the transistor type used.
47K for OC75's and 100K for OC81D's. There are probably exceptions to this but the units I've seen its the case.
I'd go with the 10K unless you got some rather nice OC81D's to hand! :D

Thanx a lot!

That was great actually! I had given up on the 100k value as it made the fuzz choke on hot output signals when I used oc75, 76 etc. And now I notice that 100k is perfect with my Mullard oc81d's! They're a little low on gain (+/- 100), but it sounds great! I might end up lowering Q2's collector resistor a little bit, though...
Again: Thanx a lot, Captain!
