Nasty Sounds Could anyone please tell me what they think the most aggressive/cutting/biting/etc/etc DAM pedal is?
I already own a Meathead and a Titan (both of which are awesome) and I now want something with a sharper edge too.
Cheers - Dave.

I don't own any more than a mkII, but when you say biting, it translates to me like treble, and the Red Rooster is a treble booster, among other things.

If you're looking for a fuzz that's going to cut through (that you can boost the treble/high mids) then my vote would be for the Drag'n'Fly I guess .. the Deluxe Meathead has a tone control and can do that too .. most of the D*A*Ms will to some extent but I find the Fly the most aggressive or biting.

How about the Red Rooster, the germanium powered treble booster?
The Titan has a really sharp edge to it, unless you want to use it for one tone, and have something else to cover another tone.

Thanks for the info chaps.
I was thinking of a rooster myself - missed out on the last lot though.
Just have to keep my eyes peeled like everyone else.

Hey Dave,
Maybe the Ram Head?!!?! Its pretty damn aggressive at full tilt and cuts like a mofo with the tone control rolled over to the treble side.
I'd also suggest the Meathead but you already got that :D
A good trick to get an aggressive tone is to run one fuzz into another, or even run a booster in the front end of a fuzz so it over saturates the tone rather than giving you volume boost.

Cheers Cap.
Ram Head sounds like another one to add to my list! I've already got a Homebrew Si/Ge treble booster and a Catalinbread booster which I mess around with quite a bit but I'm very much interested in a Rooster. Not sure if you're familiar with the pedals I mentioned but it sounds to me like your Rooster gives more tonal options - would I be correct in thinking this is the case?

Hey DF,
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with those pedals...sorry. The Roosters "Range" control is a little more flexible than say your standard hi-cut or lo-cut kinda tone control. With the Rooster you can boost your treble, bass and everything in between.

The Red Rooster in combination with fuzz is a very good thing! As Dave has pointed out, the range control on them makes for one hell of a versatile pedal. There's sweet spots a plenty within that range control!

Well, looks like that's that sorted then.
Next question - Who wants to sell me a Rooster then?
What, no one?
Thought as much - just have to get back in the queue.
