new (to me) SONIC TITAN
well, i got this on ebay: i'm playing a Zachary D1: into a THD Flexi 50: first impression was that the ST reminded me a bit of an Overdriver - similar in the way they both sound great as either a clean(ish) boost, or mild fuzz. the character of the breakup was a bit different, though. it took a little tweaking to get everything in my setup to get along, but the ST sounds HUGE. i'm using it with the THD pretty cranked already, so the Titan is providing a lead boost. very, very happy with it so far....

Do you have any recordings of the rig you just posted (with the Sonic Titan) ? I'm totally digging that gtr and I usually loathe natural finishes! What's the tone like? It looks like a friggin' piece of pine!

It looks like a friggin' piece of pine! it IS pine, actually. pine body w/ maple neck. it's a great sounding guitar - it's very resonant & the pickups are very versatile. i haven't recorded with the ST, yet (it just arrived this week)...but i have a (free!) solo album made with the THD & Zachary downloadable here: http://deadlanguagerecords.com/christophertrull.html

Voerking, how does the THD head sound? I'm using a Titan with a driven Matamp 1224, and it sounds utterly fantastic IMO (check our Myspace page for the evidence!). The Titan is the dog's danglies of drive pedals! ;)

Voerking, how does the THD head sound? in a word, "awesome". it's definitely got a big, British amp flavor to it. i love it.
