That head is probably fine for what you're doing. The only real step up is Orange/Matamp, which isn't cheap!

For atmospheric sounds I suggest you to try some effects such as: -Delay: analog (Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man or Ibanez AD-9) for short and warm repeats or digital (Boss DD-3 Digital Delay) if you want long and cold "just like your dry signal" repeats, although nowdays most of the digital units includes analog emulations (Line 6 DL4 or Ibanez DE7) -Chorus: for a glassy (Boss CH-1 Super Chorus) or watery (Electro-Harmonix Small Clone) effect. -Phaser: the most popular ones are the Electro-Harmonix Small Stone and the MXR Phase 90.
