Possibly something of interest (Grinderman)
Warren Ellis and Martyn Casey during the Grinderman session, a little pedal porn

Not a massive Cave fan myself (the wife is though) but I saw Grinderman on Later With Jools Holland and they totally rocked. This guy either used the guitar in the photo or a Pignose and was making THE filthiest noise I ever heard a guitar make. Like Jack White on a PCP and paint stripper cocktail or something. I also saw a South Bank Show on Jarvis Cocker and he was Pignosing it in a practice studio in Paris. It sounded really rich, ballsy and bright. I want a Pignose. :D

(sorry, my brain's a bit fried today). The guitar Warren's playing in the pic (and on later) is a 4 string 60's Fender Mandocaster, they were discontinued because people regarded the sound as "too harsh". When I saw Cave in Glasgow (one of the best gigs of my life, but that's another story) Warren was playing that and a violin through a pair of Mesa Mark1's (I think) and a battery of fuzz's.

Pignose guitar - like I say though the Grinderman guy may have been playing the one in the photo. Highly probable. I still want a lil Pig myself though. It'll mean "thinning the herd" as they say though. :(

Any clearer shots available? What an awesome band!
