Rooster Chain Placement Howdy, I know that there is no "right" way to set up your signal chain, but I am curious where all of you put your Red Rooster in your chain.
The two places it seemed to make sense to me was either first (right after my compressor) or totally last. But enough about me where do you use it?

Totally last works for me or any other booster infact.

I agree with Ted, any treble booster immediately before the amp definitely cleans everything up in longer chains, although if you are only using a fuzz - particularly an old one - then you can really change the tones on offer a lot by sticking it in front - even more so if you are using weaker single coil pickups where you can do with that bit extra to goose the fuzz a bit - saying that I almost always use and run a delay last normally a Boss DM2 or 3 - probably because i keep them on top of the amps :)

Just to be awkward, I have mine second in the line after the tuner, and before the Titan.
I've tried it after the Titan, but it made no discernable effect as a boost/tone thickener. Placing it before the Titan (with the range set to about 11 o'clock) gives a discernable boost to the tone (especially thickening up the mids).
If you're running a fuzz/OD/whatever, and are going to use the Rooster as well, try running it in front of the fuzz/OD/whatever.

I run mine either first or second after my guitar so there are no buffered pedals in between my guitar and RR. I think running it after a buffered pedal can affect the sound, but you may prefer it that way?

I run mine after fuzzes and before buffered peds.
