Verve ~ Forth
Anyone else heard the leak of the new Verve album yet? There are some incredible guitars on there. Psychedelic, sir.

All I've heard so far is the "Thaw Sessions" jam. So looking forward to the new album!!!

Is Verve and The Verve the same band? Did they do Bittersweet Symphony? Sorry for my ignorance.

Not heard it yet, but nice to see they've got back together. I used to go to the same college as Richard Ashcroft and a few of the other guys, they were the local band that all the indie kids were into in Wigan around 1990-91. Couldn't believe it when Northern Soul went so big and then they split, reformed and made the mega selling Urban Hymns... then split... now reformed again. It should be a pretty cool release 8)

Yeah, "Verve" was the original name, but I think Verve, the record label, got on their case and they had to add "The." And yes, it's the same band that did Bittersweet Symphony, although I think their first two albums (A Storm In Heaven and A Northern Soul) are their best. If anyone is interested, I can hook you up with the pre-Urban Hymns stuff, which is really where it's at as far as I'm concerned.
