What the hell are you listening to right now? I'm a member on several forums, each one has one of these and they're great sources for new music and also a cool insight into the characters of each forum community.
So post a track title, list the name of the band, where possible, post a link(youtube has many video uploads of band tracks, some very cool), or maybe some band art, etc. Say something about who you're listening to or just post the song, whatever you want, no rules apply here, just share the music that makes you groove.
Ok, here's my double shot for starters:
From the Melvins thread, I'd like to share a _BAD_ASS_ live Melvins cover of Alice Cooper's 'Halo of Flies':
Link
Followed by sHeavy's The Oracle, a fucking awesome Sabbath-style track sequenced against footage from the 'The Holy Mountain' film.
Stoner rock at its absolute best.
Enjoy!

Mike Hosty (solo) and The Hosty Duo (with Tic-Tac III)
Friends of mine, and the finest Oklahoma musicians around. In all seriousness, they are in my top 5 of all-time bands. Yep, alongside Zeppelin and Beatles and the like.
Oklahoma is known for Red Dirt, and Hosty is a great example of fine Dirt and Okie slide. Some can be found on iTunes under multiple names...Hosty Duo, Hosty, Mike Hosty, Hosty Trio, etc. Can I pick a "best" album?...nope. Can I pick some songs to check out? Well, some of my long time favorites are:
Married Man
Oklahoma Breakdown
Country Boy
Truck Stop Shower Stall
Destination Hawaii
Everybody Wants Something
Drive Thru
Bus Stop
Dishwasher
Maintain
Took the Train
Devil Sent Me You
The Groove
James Brown
Sun Shine
Dead and Gone
Cleveland County Cage
Que Haya
and the list goes on...

Although I've herd Kyuss and Fu Manchu...I never new that the drummer Brant Bjork, had a music carrier of his own. I just discovered his catalog about 30 days ago....WOW!...he's moved onto guitar and sings now.

I'm diggin the new record : Punk Rock Guilt
But I got the record "Tres Dias" on HI Rotation in my IPOD...it's a very simple record. Just acoustic and the odd electric guitar...but some cool laid back songs. He comes to Toronto next week as part of the NXNE fest...I may go.
check him out:

Have you seen the new book on the 'Mats, All Over But The Shouting?
I spent a while in the book store today....got sucked in!
Lots of interesting quotes from Paul, Bob Mould, Peter Jesperson, Peter Buck, Steve Fjelstad, Grant Hart, Slim Dunlap and Steve Albini (not nice things - imagine that! ...like his review for Tim & Let It Be --"I used to love these guys, now I hate this guy")
Tidbits like....at their earliest practices...Bob had just quit smoking, Paul just started! Each practice he'd give Bob a joint..."here, smoke this!"
Couple of early flyers are pretty funny...
"Merv Griffin Presents...
The Replacements"
low class rock" (hand-drawn, featuring demented cartoon drawings by Chris Mars)
There's even a pic of the City Pages classifieds from Oct. 13, 1982
"...Visitors welcome. Instruction (from) 5 generation Master, Gin Foon Mark (!?!)
....Lurking Lizards lying under (lake) Tanners (door 306) awaiting for the return of the crawling kingsnake!.
...Grin n' Bare it....Fantasyphone. Swinger's Hotline...Pure Silk, Pure Seduction. G-Strings in petal pink (deep cranberry, copper beige or true black) " etc... 8)
Btw, saw there's a new versions on Rhino of Hootenanny (7 bonus), and Stink (4 bonus), didn't see Sorry Ma', but that probably got reissued too...

In other words, I'm digging out my copies of Sorry Ma', Hootenanny & The Replacements Stink!
