Fuenf Auf Der Nach Oben Offenen Rich by Einsturzende Neubauten Blixa Bargeld's band, sounds kinda like NIN, Fantomas and Vivaldi having a flight with the Berlin Wall (and that's just track 4). I never appretiated from his work with Nick Cave just how off his perch Bargeld is, well worth a listen.

Just got back from the gym and heard Glimpses from the Yardbirds! I had to check what year it was  A very odd song to hear playing through a loudspeaker in a large place. I felt like I was in a cult compound.

The Lyres - On Fyre "On Fyre is a Matador reissue of the of the Lyres 1982 debut album on Boston's homegrown Ace of Hearts label. "On Fyre" is arguably one of the most significant albums of the post-punk garage movement. Monoman's choppy Vox Continental organ is the signature sound of the Lyres. The snarling vocals, the punky Danelectro guitar and the flat un-miked drum sound suggested a time tunnel back to the mid-sixties heyday of true garage bands." V.A. 'Be a Caveman: The Best of the Voxx Garage Revival ' "Best Of collection from Voxx Records, the label that spearheaded the revival of '60s garage music. 27 tracks including such artists as DMZ, Crawdaddys, Barracudas, Plan 9, Unclaimed, Pandoras & many more. Voxx Records was begun in 1979 as a subsidiary of Bomp Records. Owner Greg Shaw grew more dissatisfied with the direction music was taking, and desired to have a label that specialized in '60s styles as a kind of pure root music. During the mid-'80s, New Wave was big and hair bands were on the rise. But Los Angeles enjoyed perhaps the most active garage scene in the world, and Voxx was here to chronicle it. This collection is both a fabulous introduction to the genre and a must have for enthusiasts alike."

The Lyres - On Fyre 'On Fyre' is one of my all time favorites albums! I remember trying to learn how to play guitar and listening to this record, wondering how in the hell the guitarist got his guitar sound on "Help You Ann." Finally found out that it was the tremolo on brown fender concert (if I recall correctly). After that I was hooked on those amps and that tremolo! This record also raises the question: can an album have too many Kinks covers? Answer: not when they are this good! Looks like the CD reissue has a bunch of bonus stuff and B-sides as well. I need to go pick this up. Thanks for the post!

He had that same Airline model that Jack White uses. A JB Hutto Airline Resoglass, if I'm not mistaken.

Sickle- 07-02-2008

Radiohead - House of Cards I don't know what that stringy bow thing is with the heavy, lazy vibrato on it is, but I just love it.
